Alessandro Moccia

After graduating from the Conservatory of Milan with F. Cusano and specialising with Salvatore Accardo, Pavel Vernikov and Zina Gilels, Alessandro Moccia embarked on a career as both soloist and chamber musician, performing in the most renowned halls.

He created the Jeune Orchestre Atlantique (JOA) in France in 1996 with Philippe Herreweghe, an orchestra where young musicians are introduced to the philological interpretation of the classical repertoire.

He has given master classes and courses in modern and baroque violin at numerous academies, such as the Académie de Musique française in Kyoto, Japan, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon, the Conservatoire de Genève and Singapore. Since 2011 she has been professor of violin at the Conservatorio Superiore in Gent and since 2017 at the University School of Music of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano.
