Eva Mei began her musical studies in Tuscany, where she grew up in a family of musicians. Since her young debut at 22 years old at the Wiener Staatsoper as Konstanze in Die Entfuehrung aus dem Serail, Eva Mei is considered a refined performer of Italian Belcanto such as Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti and Verdi, as well as Mozart’s operas, of which she has performed all the main roles.

She currently performs in the most prestigious institutions such as Teatro regio di Torino, Israel Philhaermonic Orchestra, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestre National de Paris, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli.

She collaborated with the greatest conductors, such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Colin David, Daniel Barenboim, Lorin Maazel, Ivan Fischer, Daniele gatti, Franz Welser-Most, Jonathan Nott, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi.

In addition to her career in opera and concerts, she has always been a chamber musician, performing in recitals and concerts in the most prestigious halls. Passionate about teaching, she regularly holds Masterclasses in Italy, Israel and Japan. Since the 2016/17 season has been teaching at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and since 2020 at the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
