Since her debut in 2012 at the Teatro Regio in Turin as Amelia in Ballo in Maschera, Anna Pirozzi has confirmed herself as the most electrifying dramatic soprano of her generation, inspiring the Corriere della Sera to call it “an extraordinary dramatic coloratura soprano that in time will be able to place herself in the footsteps of Anita Cerquetti, the greatest dramatic soprano of coloratura from 1945 to today.”

Anna Pirozzi debuts at the Salzburg Festival in the summer of 2013 under the musical direction of Riccardo Muti in the part of Abigaille in Nabucco, one of her flagships, sung on the most important stages : at the Arena di Verona, at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía of Valencia, at the NCPA Beijing, at the New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, at the Opera Theaters in Leipzig and Stuttgart, Berlin, Las Palmas, Menorca, at the Sanxay Festival, Lyon, Paris and Bologna, Florence, Parma, Palermo and Cagliari, San Carlo of Naples and at the Teatro alla Scala.

International commitments in 2016/2017 saw her debut at the San Francisco Opera in the role of Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier, at the Teatro Real in Madrid as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth alongside Plácido Domingo, and at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo in the role of Abigaille in Nabucco and the debut in the role of Turandot in Israel under the musical direction of Zubin Mehta; Macbeth at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, at the Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Edinburgh Festival and Andrea Chenier at the ABAO in Bilbao.

Also in 2018 she made her debut in 3 major roles, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the role of Odabella in Attila, then Norma at ABAO Bilbao and Manon Lescaut at the Liège Opera. Then he sang in the title role in Aida at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

Recent commitments have led her to the Teatro alla Scala in the role of Lucrezia Contarini in I due Foscari, to the Royal Opera House in London as Leonora in Il trovatore, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana and Lady Macbeth, to the Bayerische Staatsoper of Monaco in the role of Amelia in A masked ball, at the ABAO – Bilbao Opera like Elizabeth I in Roberto Devereux, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Astana Opera, Turin, Rome and Leipzig in the role of Tosca; in São Paulo, Bologna and Cagliari in the role of Lady Macbeth; in Rome as Elvira in Ernani; at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Maddalena in Andrea Chénier and Leonora in Il trovatore; at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa as the protagonist of Luisa Miller; at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna as Leonora in Il Trovatore; in Parma as Amelia in Un ballo in maschera; at the Caracalla Festival as Santuzza, a role re-proposed also at the Macerata Opera Festival together with that of Nedda in Pagliacci; at the Teatro Regio in Turin in the role of Amelia in Un ballo in maschera in 2012, it was her absolute debut in an important theater and a real turning point in his career.

Anna Pirozzi regularly collaborates with internationally renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Nello Santi, Nicola Luisotti, Daniel Oren, Donato Renzetti, Gianandrea Noseda, Michele Mariotti, Renato Palumbo and Marco Armiliato. Last year at the Teatro Regio in Parma she was Lady Macbeth in Macbeth 1st version 1847, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Abigaille and two Opera House debuts, at the Lyons Opera always with Abigaille and at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires again with Norma.

She was Leonora,  in La Forza del Destino in the theaters of Piacenza and Modena and then La Gioconda at the Liceu in Barcelona. He also sang Turandot in the title role at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and this summer at the Verona Arena was Aida and Leonora in the Trovatore. His last major debut with immense success was her Lady Macbeth at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

In future engagements there is the important debut in the role of Imogene in The Pirate by V. Bellini at the Opera of Monte Carlo but first will be again Abigaille at the theater Nationale Ópera and Ballet in Amsterdam, also in theaters in Valençia and Berlin.

She occasionally holds also singing masterclasses in Italy.
Born in Naples, the soprano began her vocal studies at the Music Institute of the Valle d’Aosta and perfected her studies at the “G. Verdi” of Turin.
